EFT Ammo, Armor, and Map Knowledge
In Escape from Tarkov, ammo and armor choices decide fights before the first shot. Map knowledge decides whether you take that fight at all.
Ammo matches the job
Bring penetration for the threats you expect on that map and wipe stage. Soft ammo into heavy armor is a donation. Check charts when the wipe meta shifts — do not memorize last wipe forever.
Carry a few special rounds if your mag count allows, but do not mix randomly mid-mag without a plan.
Armor is a timer, not invincibility
Armor buys you mistakes, not immortality. Play cover even in class five. Repair and durability math matters for repeated raids.
Helmet choices trade hearing, protection, and ergonomics. Pick for the map — factory is not lighthouse.
Map knowledge drills
Learn two extracts and one safe pocket spawn path per map before you grind PvP. Getting lost with a quest item is a classic wipe story.
Offline practice for key rooms still pays. Knowing the door and desk layout saves seconds when AI or players pressure you.
