War Thunder BR Brackets and Crew Skills
War Thunder matchmaking cares about battle rating brackets more than your favorite tank’s looks. Lineups with ugly gaps get uptiered into misery; crew skills decide how long you stay alive once you are there.
Build honest lineups
Fill the bracket with vehicles you can actually spawn. One premium and empty slots is how you sit out the late match. Keep a backup for when the first tank dies early.
Check modification progress. Half-spaded lineups underperform even when the BR number looks fine.
Crew skill order
Prioritize survivability and reload or repair where it changes fights. Cosmetic crew voice packs can wait. War Thunder grind is long — spend points where deaths get shorter.
Retrain carefully when moving crews. Surprise skill loss mid-event weekend feels worse than it looks on paper.
Uptier survival
In uptiers, play support angles and capture points instead of mirror duels against higher pen. Your job is contribution, not highlight reels.
After several uptier stomps, drop a step and rebuild confidence. The tech tree will still be there tomorrow.
